According to CM Naidu, NHAI and its contractor, M/s Rajpath Infracon Pvt. Ltd., laid 28.95 lane-kilometres of road and used 10,675 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete in just 24 hours. This work was completed on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G).
He said this record shows the strong vision of the Government of India and the hard work of engineers, workers, and field teams. He also praised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for pushing world-class highway projects. The work was done while following strict quality standards set by NHAI.
CM Naidu added that two more Guinness World Records are planned to be attempted by January 11, 2026, on other packages of the same corridor. He ended his message with the words, “India builds. Andhra Pradesh delivers.”
The Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Expressway is a major highway project that will improve travel between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The road is designed as a six-lane, access-controlled expressway.
Once it is completed, the time taken for travelling to and from Amaravati to Bengaluru will be cut down from 11–12 hours to approximately six hours. That means saving time, reducing fuel consumption and making the whole trip more enjoyable for the travellers.
The route will stretch across the mentioned districts in Andhra Pradesh, namely Guntur, Prakasam, Kurnool, and Kadapa, and then it will cross over into Karnataka. The expressway will strategically bypass the main towns and roads, thus providing the very quick and tranquil movement of light and heavy vehicles as well as goods.
The undertaking forms a part of the Bharatmala Phase-II project, whose main aim is to modernise the national highways of India. Building better roads will, in fact, increase trade, attract more tourists, and foster the overall growth of the economy.
The total length of the expressway is expected to be between 518 km and 624 km, combining both greenfield and brownfield sections. The project cost is estimated at around Rs 19,200 to Rs 19,320 crore.
The greenfield part includes an area of approximately 342 km, which starts from Kodikonda and ends at Addanki or Muppavaram. The term greenfield is used to indicate the construction of a whole new road in an empty area of land.
The brownfield section includes upgrades of existing highways. This includes:
Bengaluru to Kodikonda – 73 km on NH-44
Addanki to Vijayawada – 113 km on NH-16
These upgrades will make older roads wider and safer.
The highway is designed to speed up the transportation of goods from one place to another and to enhance the prospects of business.
It will also help people travel easily between major cities.
