Domestic equity benchmarks registered gains on Thursday amid buying in financial and energy shares though selling pressure in IT shares limited the upside. For the Nifty50, it was the seventh back-to-back closing in the green, with the index reclaiming the psychologically important 25,000 mark. Optimism about domestic economic growth, with Fitch raising its annual forecast this week, and about US-India trade relations continued to aid investor sentiment.
The Sensex gained 123.6 points, or 0.2 per cent, to end at 81,548.7 while the Nifty50 settled at 25,005.5, adding 32.4 points, or 0.1 per cent, to its previous close.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Eicher Motors, Titan, SBI Life, Hero MotoCorp and UltraTech Cement -- closing between 0.7 per cent and 1.4 per cent lower -- were the top losers in the 50-blue-chip pack.
Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank were among the biggest contributors to the gains in both main indices.
