Maheshwari has over 35 years of experience in the power sector.By Jomy Jos Pullokaran May 10, 2025, 9:57:07 PM IST (Published)2 Min ReadThe renewable energy arm of NTPC Ltd, NTPC Green Energy Limited, on Saturday (May 10) announced a leadership change with the appointment of Sarit Maheshwari as Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel, effective May 10, 2025. He succeeds Rajiv Gupta, who ceased to hold the position the same day, the company said.
Maheshwari brings with him over 35 years of experience in the power sector. An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he also holds a master's in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi and an MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Prior to this appointment, he served as CEO of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL, and also led NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited, a 74:26 joint venture between NTPC and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. He was earlier the Head of Project at NTPC's Korba facility.

In February this year, NTPC Green Energy said it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Ltd (MPPGCL) at the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal to develop renewable energy parks and projects in the state.
The MoU aims to establish solar, wind, and hybrid renewable projects with or without storage, with a targeted capacity of up to 20 W or more in Madhya Pradesh. It also facilitates the formation of a joint venture company (JVC) to support the Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of MPPGCL and the Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of the state's power distribution companies.
On Friday (May 9), shares of NTPC Green Energy Ltd ended at ₹97.35, down by ₹0.40, or 0.41%, on the BSE.
