Owaisi again rips into Pakistan over Pahalgam: 'Only one agenda behind killing our Hindu brothers ...'

Published on 28/04/2025 02:11 PM

Intensifying his attack on Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that the country should again be placed on the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list.

Speaking in Maharashtra, Owaisi said, “...My demand is that it is important to put Pakistan on the FATF's 'Grey' list again ... Pakistan's deep state and establishment want that there should be a Hindu-Muslim divide in India, and this is the reason they did this (Pahalgam attack)...”

In 2022, the global money laundering and terrorism financing watchdog took Pakistan off its grey list after a gap of several years.

Owaisi also urged the people not to let the agenda of terrorists, who wants Hindus and other non-Muslims to boycott Kashmir, succeed.

"Their (Terrorists) only agenda to kill non-Muslims ... our Hindu brothers ... was to convey a message that no non-Muslim can come to Kashmir. I appeal to the nation to not let their designs succeed - those who want to weaken the unity of the country," the AIMIM chief said.

Last week, Owaisi lashed out at the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack, saying, “Pakistan always talks about being a nuclear power; they need to remember that if they enter another country and kill innocent civilians, that country will not remain silent.”

He had also condemned the religious targeting of civilians, saying “No matter the government, by killing our people on our land, and targeting them based on religion, what 'deen' are you talking about?... You have acted like the ISIS."

Criticizing Pakistan’s long-standing strategy of fostering terrorism, he said, "LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) is the illegitimate child of the Pakistan government."

His comments came as Pakistan continued ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), firing into Kupwara and Poonch districts for the fourth night in a row.

Earlier, Owaisi, addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, had used strong and abusive language to slam the attackers: “Inn ka**ino, ha***zaado ne jo harkat ki, wahan par naam pooch kar goli maare, samudaaya pooch kar marein, iski accountability toh honi chaiye. Aur yakeenan ye dehshatgar humare padosi mulk Pakistan se aaye, Pakistan ke ISI, Pakistan ka establishment, unka poora support inko haasil hai."

On Tuesday, terrorists belonging to The Resistance Force - a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba - killed 26 innocent people, mostly tourists, in the scenic Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam. Ties between India and Pakistan nosedived following the attack, with New Delhi scaling down diplomatic ties with Islamabad over the neighbouring country's support to terror groups.
