Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Aktar's YouTube channel has got banned in India on Monday (April 28) following the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people died in the Kashmir valley. Akhtar's channel is among the 16 other channels which got blocked by the Indian government.

Major Pakistani news channels — including Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, Bol News, Raftar, Geo News, and Suno News — have been banned, affecting a combined audience of approximately 63 million subscribers.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India vice-president Rajeev Shukla said that the Indian cricket team will not play bilateral series against Pakistan going forward. The last time India played a bilateral series against Pakistan was back in 2013. After that, the India vs Pakistan games have only taken place in ICC tournaments.

In addition to Shukla, several cricketers and former players condemned the attack and urged the BCCI to sever cricketing ties with Pakistan, with former India captain Sourav Ganguly emerging as one of the leading voices in the appeal.

"100 percent, India should do this (break ties with Pakistan). Strict action should be taken. It has turned out to be a joke that such things are happening every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," Sourav Ganguly told reporters.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to take strict action against the terrorists and those connected to the incident.

"Today from the soil of Bihar I say to the whole world. India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth," PM Modi had said on April 24.

"India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to ensure that justice is done. The entire nation is firm in this resolve," Modi had added.
