Paytm shares decline 4% ahead of Q4 results today; check estimatesPaytm will declare its Q4FY25 results today, with some brokerages expecting the company to swing into profits, while others project a net loss.By Meghna Sen May 6, 2025, 10:50:37 AM IST (Published)2 Min ReadAhead of its March quarter earnings, shares of One97 Communications Ltd., the parent company of payments aggregator Paytm, were trading down 4% on Tuesday, May 6. The stock was also among the top losers on the Nifty 500 index.
Paytm will declare its Q4FY25 results today, with some brokerages expecting the company to swing into profits, while others project a net loss.
JM Financial and Yes Securities expect Paytm’s net profit to range between ₹3.6 crore and ₹4.5 crore. However, Motilal Oswal estimates a net loss of ₹112 crore for the January-March quarter, though it expects the loss to narrow both year-on-year and sequentially.
JM Financial estimates Paytm’s Q4 revenue at ₹1,975 crore, reflecting a 13% year-on-year decline but an 8% quarter-on-quarter growth.
EBITDA is likely to remain negative at ₹65 crore, which still marks a 71% improvement both YoY and QoQ. The EBITDA margin is projected to improve by 660 basis points YoY and 889 bps QoQ, but would remain negative at 3.3%.
According to Motilal Oswal, Paytm’s revenue is projected at ₹2,098 crore, down 7.5% YoY and up 15% QoQ.
The brokerage expects operating profitability to improve, driven by lower depreciation costs. It also sees sequential growth in disbursements and GMV.
Motilal's note added that revenue growth would be aided by the UPI incentive, and that EBITDA guidance would be a key monitorable going forward.
Shares of Paytm are currently trading 3.31% lower at ₹837.35. The stock is down 15% so far in 2025.
