Petrol & Diesel Prices remain unchanged on May 1: Check latest rates across major cities

Published on 01/05/2025 09:17 AM

The month of May has begun, and oil marketing companies (OMCs) have released the latest petrol and diesel prices for May 1. However, despite the new month, there has been no change in fuel prices, offering no fresh relief to consumers.

According to the latest update, petrol and diesel prices remain stable across the country. The last major revision was in March 2024, when rates were cut by Rs 2 per litre. Since then, prices have remained steady, even after the central government hiked excise duty some time ago — a move whose burden was not passed on to the common man.

Fuel rates in India are determined daily by major oil companies such as Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. These companies publish updated prices on their official websites every morning, allowing consumers to check fuel rates easily from home.
