Pre-market update: Indian equity benchmarks are poised for a firm start on Monday, tracking positive cues from GIFT Nifty futures. As of 7:30 AM, GIFT Nifty was trading 40 points higher at 24,608, indicating a strong opening for the session.
Investor focus will also be on geopolitical developments after a key meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Amid ongoing US-led trade tensions, both leaders agreed that India and China could play a pivotal role in stabilising global trade — a move that may boost hopes of improved bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
On the domestic front, the market awaits updates on tariff negotiations and policy announcements, particularly around Goods and Services Tax (GST) rationalisation. Currency movements and global crude oil prices will also be closely watched.
