Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, known for his versatile roles and heartfelt performances, has always been a firm supporter of his wife, actress Patralekhaa. In a recent emotional post on social media, Rajkummar poured his heart out, praising Patralekhaa’s remarkable portrayal of the legendary social reformer Savitribai Phule in the film Phule.

“Words can’t describe my feelings after watching your performance in Phule,” Rajkummar began, sharing his immense pride in his wife’s latest accomplishment. He expressed how inspired he was by Patralekhaa’s dedication and skill in playing such a challenging and pivotal role. He acknowledged that portraying a figure like Savitribai Phule, a pioneer in education and women’s rights in India, was no easy task, yet Patralekhaa did it with “so much purity and truth.”

Rajkummar went on to reminisce about their early days working together, recalling how he had called her after watching her heart-wrenching scene in IC814 and marvelled at her magical performance. "I remember calling you after watching your phone scene in IC814 and asking you how did you do this magic,” he wrote. “I know for a fact that so many of our working actors today won’t be able to do it with this much purity and truth, including me."

He continued by recalling a significant moment in Phule, when Patralekhaa’s character slaps a man in the film, a moment so powerful that the audience erupted in applause. Rajkummar expressed his joy at witnessing such an emotional reaction from the audience, further underlining Patralekhaa’s extraordinary ability to captivate viewers.

What truly struck him, however, was Patralekhaa’s unwavering determination and resilience. "In such a cut-throat industry, you my love, have always stood your grounds and kept working silently, pushing your boundaries,” he added. Rajkummar highlighted that Patralekhaa’s success had been achieved through years of hard work, perseverance, and without relying on external support. “You have done everything on your own,” he noted. “I’ve seen you working so hard for the last many years and it’s your moment now.”

His closing sentiment, “I’m a very proud husband,” sums up the profound admiration he has for his wife. As Rajkummar proudly celebrates Patralekhaa’s achievements, he also shared a meaningful line from the film: “हर जीवन के हम साथी” (We are companions in every life), encapsulating the essence of their shared journey both personally and professionally.

The biographical drama Phule, starring Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha, hit theatres on April 25, 2025. The film had a modest opening, earning just 21 lakh at the box office, which marks a significant decline of 73.75% compared to Pratik’s previous film Do Aur Do Pyaar, which had debuted with 80 lakh. On its second day, Phule saw a slight increase, bringing in 26 lakh. The total India net collection for the film currently stands at 47 lakh.
