The Reserve Bank of India has approved the reappointment of C S Rajan as part-time chairman of Kotak Mahindra Bank until October 2027.

Rajan also serves as an Independent Director on the board of the bank as well as the board of Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Limited.

The bank said in a statement that the reappointment ensures continuity in leadership and governance as it progresses on its strategic growth path. 

“I am honoured to continue serving as Chairman of Kotak Mahindra Bank. I look forward to working closely with the Board and management to further strengthen the Bank’s position and deliver value to all stakeholders.” said Rajan, a 1978-batch IAS officer, who has dedicated over four decades in public service. 

In 2016, he served as Deputy Chairman in the Chief Minister of Rajasthan’s Advisory Council. Two years later in 2018, he was appointed by the Government of India on the Board of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL&FS).
