The collaboration will focus on delivering end-to-end MRO, upgrade and lifecycle support services for a range of Indian defence platforms, the company said in a statement on Monday, June 30.
These will include more than 100 Jaguar and 100 MiG-29 fighter aircraft, Apache attack helicopters, L-70 air defence guns, and other ageing systems that require extensive modernisation.

Joint venture at Nagpur's MIHAN for global markets
Reliance Defence and Coastal Mechanics will also establish a joint venture at the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) in Maharashtra, the company stated.
The facility will cater to both domestic and international markets and provide integrated MRO and upgrade services across air and land-based defence systems.
The company aims to align with the Indian military's evolving focus from asset replacement to extending the lifecycle of its equipment and adopting performance-based logistics.

Coastal Mechanics brings global experience
Founded in 1975, Coastal Mechanics is a US Department of Defence authorised contractor which supplies mission-critical components to the US Air Force and the US Army.
The partnership will bring world-class manufacturing capabilities and global certifications into India's aerospace ecosystem, as per ANI.
Coastal Mechanics has also remained a key vendor addressing obsolescence challenges through the US Army and US Air Force Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases, as per PTI.
