SBI Card to remove this complimentary service from credit cards starting August 11; check details

SBI Card has removed a complimentary service from a number of its credits cards. The changes will come into effect from August 11, 2025.
Now, the credit card customers will not be able to access free air accident insurance coverage amounting to Rs 1 crore. The service is eliminated from UCO Bank SBI Card ELITE, Central Bank of India SBI Card ELITE, PSB SBI Card ELITE, KVB SBI Card ELITE, KVB SBI Signature Card, and Allahabad Bank SBI Card ELITE.
SBI Card has also announced that it will also remove Rs 50 lakh free air accident insurance coverage from some of its credit cards. These cards include:
UCO Bank SBI Card PRIME, Central Bank of India SBI Card PRIME, PSB SBI Card PRIME, KVB SBI Card PRIME, Karur Vysya Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, South Indian Bank SBI Card PRIME, South Indian Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, Karnataka Bank SBI Card PRIME, Karnataka Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, City Union Bank SBI Card PRIME, Allahabad Bank SBI Card PRIME, UBI SBI PLATINUM Credit Card, OBC SBI VISA PLATINUM Card, Federal Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card, and BOM SBI PLATINUM Credit Card.
Recently, SBI announced changes in its SBI Card Miles Elite and SBI Card Miles Prime cards. The credit card company had discontinued the complimentary Air Accident insurance coverage of Rs 1 crore, and the changes are effective from July 15.
It had also removed complimentary air accident insurance coverage of Rs 50 lakh from SBI Card Prime and SBI Card Pulse credit cards.
Two weeks back, SBI Card and PhonePe introduced a co-branded credit card to reward customers for regular spending. The PhonePe SBI Card is available in two variants, PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK and PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE.
Customers can earn up to 10 per cent reward points on everyday spends like recharges, bill payments, insurance, flights, hotels, pincode (a hyperlocal delivery app) & more while making purchases on the phonepe app with the phonepe sbi card select black. They can also receive up to 5 per cent reward points on other online purchases.
