Vikran Engineering Ltd. is set to finalise the share allotment status for its ₹772-crore initial public offering (IPO) on Wednesday, September 1.

The mainboard IPO was subscribed 23.59 times on the third and final day of bidding on August 29. Vikran Engineering IPO received bids for 138 crore shares against 5.87 crore shares on offer. The IPO opened for subscription on August 26.

 

Shares of Premier Energies Ltd. will be in focus on Monday, September 1, as its one-year shareholder lock-in period comes to an end, which will free up shares worth over ₹18,000 crore.

As many as 185.2 crore shares or 41% of the company’s outstanding equity is set to free-up for trade as its shareholder lock-in ends today, according to Nuvama Alternative and Quantitative Research.

 

Brokerage firm Morgan Stanley has initiated coverage on Murugappa Group’s CG Power Ltd., with an “overweight” rating, on Monday, September 1.

Morgan Stanley has a price target of ₹799 for its base case, which implies a potential upside of 15% from Friday’s close. Its “bull case” price target of ₹1,044, implies a potential upside of 50% from Friday’s close.

 

Japan’s businesses largely reined in growth in capital spending, taking a more cautious view of the outlook as the Trump administration’s tariff campaign intensified.

Capital expenditure on goods excluding software gained for a fifth consecutive quarter in the three months through June, but the pace of increase decelerated sharply to 0.2% from 2% in the previous period, the Finance Ministry reported Monday.

TRADE SET UP

Oil steadied after capping a monthly drop, with traders focused on concerns over a potential glut and geopolitical tensions.

Brent traded near $67 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was below $64. Traders are assessing whether India will yield to US pressure to end crude imports from Russia after Washington imposed secondary tariffs against the South Asian nation.

 

Asian equities opened lower after a selloff in technology stocks hit Wall Street Friday, with chip shares among the losers.

Indexes in Japan and South Korea opened lower along with Australian stocks. Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. slid after the US Commerce Department removed the companies from the list of entities authorised to move some goods from China without a license.
