On Tuesday, the day of the monthly options expiry, the Nifty fell into weakness amid volatility following a strong Monday recovery.

Despite starting the day on a muted note, the index made a fleeting bid at rebound. The market was pulled down by selling pressure that surfaced from the day’s high of 26,000, but it was able to finish off the day’s lows thanks to a strong late-hour rally.
