Brent oil was trading near $100 a barrel after one of the most volatile trading weeks on record, as investors braced for more upheaval post Iran pledging to keep the Strait of Hormuz shut.
Brent was modestly lower after increasing 9.2% on Thursday, while West Texas was trading near $96.

Asian shares followed US stocks lower in early trade on Friday as focus remained on oil prices on increasing fears that the Iran war will further boost inflation and crimp energy supplies.
A gauge of Asian stocks declined 0.5% in early trade post the S&P 500 sliding 1.5% to its lowest ever since November 2025.

The GIFT Nifty is down 150 points, indicating a negative start for Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex.
Godrej Properties has acquired 44 acre land in Coimbatore with an estimated revenue potential of Rs 450 crore.
So far, the Nifty is down 3.3% for the week, which will be its worst week of the year so far.
In addition, it will also be the fourth straight weekly loss for the index.
