 Garuda Construction and Engineering Ltd announced that it has secured work orders worth approximately ₹143.96 crore from Orbit Ventures Developers for civil works related to the “Shikhar-B” redevelopment project in Oshiwara, Mumbai.With this addition, the company’s total order book now stands at around ₹3,229.78 crore. According to minutes from last month’s meeting, which were made public on Wednesday (October 8), the majority of members of the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate setting committee favoured additional cuts to the central bank’s benchmark interest rate this year.

According to the minutes, most Fed members believed that the danger of rising unemployment had gotten worse since their last meeting in July, but the risk of rising inflation “had either diminished or not increased.”

 Canara Robeco AMC Ltd.’s ₹1,326 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) opened for subscription today, October 9, and will remain open until Monday, October 13.

The entire issue is a Offer For Sale (OFS), meaning the company will not receive any proceeds from the stake sale.Ahead of the IPO launch, the company raised ₹397 crore from over 15 anchor investors, including Nippon India MF, Axis MF, and SBI MF.

The price band has been set between ₹253 and ₹266 per share, with investors able to bid for a minimum of one lot (56 shares), requiring an investment of ₹14,896, and in multiples thereafter.

On Wednesday, Wall Street’s obsession with artificial intelligence (AI) kept pushing key indices to all-time highs. In 2025, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite recorded their 33rd and 32nd record closing, respectively, with the Nasdaq surpassing 23,000 and the S&P 500 soaring above 6,750.

 

Over 20 listings have occurred on Dalal Street in the last 13 trading sessions. Three in particular stand out, but two-thirds of those are already below their issue price.

On Wednesday, October 9, Om Freight Forwarders’ shares were first listed on the stock exchange. When compared to its issue price of ₹135 per share, the stock listed at a discount. a more than 30% reduction. The stock saw a 36% decline at the end of its first trading day.

GIFT Nifty flat, indicates a muted start for the Indian market

Oil prices declined as traders shifted focus to easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and an increase in US crude inventories. Brent slipped below $66 a barrel after a 1% gain on Wednesday, while WTI hovered near $62.

The decline followed comments from US President Donald Trump, who said Israel and Hamas had agreed on terms for the release of remaining hostages — a key step toward ending the two-year conflict in Gaza.

According to sources, IRB InvIT Fund has launched its Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) issue, aiming to raise around ₹3,000 crore with an additional upsize option of ₹250 crore.

The indicative offer price is set at ₹60 per unit, reflecting a 2.8% discount to the current market price.

Some of the stocks to watch in today’s trading session include Escorts Kubota, Lupin, GR Infraprojects, IRB InvIT Fund, Prestige Estates Projects, Senco Gold, CONCOR, UGRO Capital and more.

 

The Nifty’s Wednesday performance would be the result of putting Tuesday’s trading session into a xerox machine.

What happened with the Nifty on Wednesday is a scene-by-scene replica: the index started the day higher, soared to the high of the day in the first few minutes of trading, then was sold into the recovery, bought into the dip, and then sold into the subsequent recovery, ending the day close to its lowest point.
