The Japanese markets are having a day of decline. The marquee Nikkei 225 index dipped by over 448.66 points, or 1.18%, taking the overall value to 37,679.47. Meanwhile, the TOPIX dipped to 2,734.47, shrinking by 28.82 points or 1.04%.

Tata Power’s shares will be in focus today. The energy company’s consolidated net profit for the March quarter rose to ₹1,362 crore from ₹1,071 crore a year earlier, exceeding a CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹1,197 crore.

Revenue grew 23.1% to ₹5,241 crore, above the expected ₹5,021 crore.
