The market share of premium motorcycles in India, those with engine capacities above 150 cc, rose to 19% last fiscal year from 14% in fiscal 2019. Sales of these motorcycles increased to 2.3 million units from 1.9 million units, a 22% rise above pre-Covid levels, according to analytics firm Crisil.

US President Donald Trump said he is planning on making a ‘major statement’ on Russia on Monday. This comes on the back of the US preparing to send new American weapons to Ukrain via purchases from NATO allies.

The electric vehicle giant will inaugurate its first experience centre in Mumbai, located in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). This marks Tesla’s initial physical presence in India, with the company expected to commence retail sales through imported vehicles.

 

JSW Infrastructure’s resolution plan for NCR Rail Infrastructure, which operates a key Private Freight Terminal in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, has received approval from the Committee of Creditors (CoC). The terminal is strategically located near New Delhi and the upcoming Jewar Airport. JSW Infrastructure shares closed marginally lower at ₹312.20 on the BSE.

The GIFT Nifty is trading with a deficit of about 150 points, thereby indicating a gap-down start for the index.

Zee Entertainment shareholders have voted down a ₹2,237 crore promoter-led capital infusion via preferential warrants, with 40% opposing the proposal. This is the second shareholder rejection after Punit Goenka’s reappointment as MD was declined in December 2024. The company stated it respects the decision and remains committed to growth.

1QFY26: Miss at revenue vs consensus

Oil steadied after falling more than 2% on Thursday as investors weighed the fallout from OPEC+ supply and President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Credit Wise Capital, a Mumbai-based NBFC focused on two-wheeler and MSME loans, has secured ₹200 crore in its first institutional funding round led by Trident Growth Partners. The funds will be used to expand its branchless lending operations across tier 2 to tier 4 cities, introduce products such as loans against property, and bolster its team.

US President Donald Trump will levy a 35% tariff on goods coming into the US from Canada, he said in a post on Truth Social. The tariff level would take effect from Aug. 1.

It’s not clear whether a current exemption for goods traded under the USMCA trade pact would be extended or ended.

TRADE SET UP

Tata Steel Limited, on Thursday (July 10), said it has acquired 124,62,68,657 equity shares of its wholly owned foreign subsidiary, T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd. (TSHP), at a face value of $0.1005 each. The total investment amounts to $125.25 million, equivalent to ₹1,073.63 crore.

Britain plans to invest €163.3 million ($191 million) in the satellite operator Eutelsat, Reuters reported on Thursday, as part of broader efforts to enhance European sovereign capabilities in satellite communications and compete with SpaceX’s Starlink.

TCS, Anand Rathi Wealth, and Tata Elxsi are in focus following their Q1 FY26 earnings, while Glenmark Pharma made headlines with a $1.2 billion licensing deal with AbbVie. In addition, Birla Corporation Ltd will also be a focus, among other stocks.

The asset quality of state-run Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) Ltd. took a hit during the April-June quarter, owing to its exposure to Gensol Engineering and issues pertaining to another client.

Whether the Nifty 50 ends the week in the green or red now depends on how the Street reacts to Q1 results from India’s largest IT services firm, TCS. Its performance may have a rub-off effect on other IT stocks, five of which are part of the Nifty 50 index.
