TRADE SET UP

According to experts, a US naval blockade of Iran is a significant, unrestricted military operation that might lead to further reprisal from Tehran and severely strain an already precarious ceasefire.

As the six-month shareholder lock-in period for the non-banking financial arm of the Tata Group expires on Monday, April 13, attention will be focused on shares of Tata Capital Ltd. The biggest IPO of 2025 was Tata Capital.

As US-Iran tensions increased after US President Donald Trump ordered a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following the failure of weekend peace negotiations, Asian stocks fell during Monday’s open, while oil prices shot up.

The Nifty continued its upward momentum on Friday after a short break, rising 275 points to reach the 24,000 level. Strong global cues caused the index to begin 105 points higher, and gains continued throughout the session.

When trading resumed on Sunday evening local time following the weekend break and the collapse of the US-Iran peace negotiations in Islamabad, US market futures on Wall Street plummeted.

On Monday, April 13, early Asian trading saw a spike in European natural gas prices following US President Donald Trump’s announcement that the US will start a complete blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Between April 13 and April 18, Dalal Street will monitor 42 companies’ fourth-quarter results. Wipro, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, ICICI Lombard, ICICI Prudential AMC, and HDB Financial Services are important brands. With its results this week, Wipro will also be contemplating a share buyback.

Following US President Donald Trump’s threat to block the Strait of Hormuz and the failure of US-Iranian discussions to produce a significant result over the weekend, crude oil prices skyrocketed.

Benchmark indices finished higher, with the Nifty adding 276 points to close at 24,051, close to the day’s high, and the Sensex increasing 919 points to conclude at 77,550.
