Here’s how the global market cues are placed this morning

On Friday, October 24, investors will be watching shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL), the biggest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) firm in India, as they respond to the company’s September quarter results, which were released after market hours on Thursday.

In contrast to the 0-1% growth predicted by a CNBC-TV18 survey, HUL’s primary performance indicator, underlying volume growth (UVG), was flat for the quarter.

Following the company’s poor quarterly performance report released after market hours on Thursday, shares of Sagar Cements Ltd. are under scrutiny on Friday, October 24.

The costs associated with the shutdown and the employees were the cause of the quarter’s deterioration.

After a steep drop as the market reevaluated a gain that had driven the commodity into overbought territory, gold is poised to end a nine-week winning streak.

Bullion was on course for a weekly drop of almost 3%, the largest since May, as it remained stable at $4,140 an ounce.
