The Income Tax Department has advised taxpayers to evaluate and make any necessary revisions to their income-tax returns (ITRs) as the deadline of December 31 draws near, emphasising that prompt changes can help prevent future disputes, penalties, and extended scrutiny.
The advice is a component of the department’s data-driven “NUDGE” campaign for the 2025–2026 evaluation year.
