GIFT Nifty higher, trading at a premium of over 50 points from Nifty Fut Friday’s close, indicating a start in the green for the Indian market.

Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, revealed last week that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway had bought a nearly $5 billion stake in the company as part of its third quarter financial summary.

It’s unknown if Buffett or new CEO Greg Abel approved the purchase of the 17.8 million Class A shares of Alphabet, but it’s the largest increase to the company’s holdings in the third quarter of 2025.

Thanks to advances in Bharat Electronics, Eternal, Trent, and State Bank of India, the Nifty finished the week above 25,900 on Friday, extending its winning run for the fifth consecutive session.

Amidst weak global indications, the index opened with a 112-point gap-down before making an excellent return. Bears were able to maintain control until midday because of the global uncertainty that kept mood muted over the first half.
