October saw record sales in India’s automotive sector, propelled by a strong festive mood and the removal of the GST on both small and large cars. At 1.8 lakh units, Maruti Suzuki reported its highest-ever wholesale dispatches.

The company supplied 2.4 lakh cars to consumers through retail sales, a 20% year-over-year increase. During this time, small car sales experienced a robust rebound, growing 30% year over year.

 

As the stock starts trading adjusted for its previously announced stock split, shares of state-run BEML Ltd. will be the subject of attention on Monday, November 3.

One share of ₹10 will be divided into two shares of ₹5 each, as the PSU had already announced a 1:2 stock split. Monday is the record date for the stock split.

 

West Texas Intermediate was close to $61, and Brent oil hit $65 a barrel in its longest run of increases since late September. In addition to the increases planned for October and November, the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners announced on Sunday that they will increase output by roughly 137,000 barrels per day in December.

In today’s trading day, some of the stocks to watch include Tata Chemicals, JK Cement, BPCL, Balkrishna Industries, AU Small Finance Bank, Schaeffler India, Patanjali Foods, Godrej Consumer Products, Titagarh Rail Systems, Zen Technologies, Bank of Baroda.

 

Due to selling pressure in the last two sessions, the Indian equity market erased the gains from the first three days of last week. On Friday, the benchmark Nifty50 index lost the 25,800 level as profit booking occurred for the second straight session.
