US President Donald Trump on Thursday (October 30) said tariffs on China will be 47%, down from 57%. He said there will be no more roadblocks on rare earths, and it is a one-year agreement that will be extended.

On Vodafone Idea: “You cannot, of course, invest big money into it because of uncertainties around it. But if it tends to survive, and if some positive news comes, like a merger with BSNL or something to ensure that it is going to remain and eventually start showing profits, then certainly the investor interest and the sentiment can improve. As I said, it’s like buying an option.”

On L&T: “L&T is amongst the handful of Nifty companies which can still grow in mid-teen over the next few years or so. So, it should be part of everybody’s core holdings, according to us.”

ITC is set to report its Q2 earnings today; cigarette volumes are expected to grow 5–6%, while FMCG may rise 3–4%. FMCG margin could contract by 50–80 bps. Paper business revenue is seen up 4–5%, and agri revenue may grow 10–15%, with leaf tobacco prices off their highs.

The stock broking website Groww’s parent firm, Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd., is scheduled to begin its ₹6,632 crore initial public offering (IPO) on November 4.

On November 3, anchor investors will be able to place bids for shares, and until November 7, the issue will be available for general subscription.
