Gautam Trivedi, Managing Partner at Nepean Capital, said the recent GST reforms are a key “hope trade” that could help revive consumption and support economic growth. He noted that investors await earnings momentum, but GST changes may drive domestic demand. here

The rupee witnessed range-bound trading in morning deals on Monday (September 15) and depreciated 4 paise to 88.30 against the US dollar, as tariff-led pressure on India’s exports weighed on investor sentiments.

Forex traders said the rupee traded in a tight range as it is caught between worries over US trade tariffs, persistent foreign portfolio outflows, and hopes of a US rate cut.

The total cash balance of equity mutual funds dropped from ₹1.85 lakh crore to ₹1.76 lakh crore in August due to active cash deployment. August saw a number of block deals that allowed fund firms to start using inflows.
