TV actors and siblings Sheezan Khan and Falaq Naaz are known for sharing a warm bond, which is characterized by fun banter and steadfast support for one another.
But recently there has been news again of a falling out with their elder sister, Shafaq Naaz. Sheezan recently spoke out about their strained relationship with their sister, Shafaq.
Though their relationship with Shafaq appeared stable during Sheezan's legal fight when he was arrested in connection with the suicide of fellow actress Tunisha Sharma, tensions have returned. Both Sheezan and Falaq expressed anger and irritation with Shafaq, with Sheezan emphasizing her absence during a vital period when their mother was ill.
The siblings talked about the emotional toll of caring for their mother, who had fallen into a deep depression. They remembered her sensitivity and the continual help she needed. Sheezan identified stress from his legal difficulties as a primary cause, prompting his mother to cease her medicine, exacerbating her illness.
Their mother's yearning for Shafaq only worsened her pain. According to Sheezan and Falaq, the entire family, including Shafaq, was constantly informed of their mother's declining condition. However, Sheezan stated, "She (Shafaq) opted not to speak with us. She decided not to keep in touch."
Falaq also stated that Shafaq's public declaration, where she asserted herself as the "neglected" child, had a profound impact on their mother. Falaq underlined how this comment upset their mother, who had always tried to treat her children fairly.
While Sheezan respected Shafaq's right to disassociate herself from her siblings, he felt she should have remained in touch with their mother.
He described how his mother attempted to contact Shafaq after having knee surgery, but when she was hospitalized for 10 days, their communication with Shafaq sounded distant and lacking love.
Falaq also spoke about her attempts to bridge the divide amid the health crisis, adding, "When Mom was hospitalized, we called Shafaq, and she refused to get involved."
Reflecting on the issue, Sheezan stated, "Fir toh thoda insaan nazron se utarta hai na (Then a person loses respect)." When questioned if he no longer respected his sister, Sheezan said, "Haan, gir gayi, definitely (Yes, definitely)."
