The total block size is estimated at ₹10,300 crore, with a floor price of ₹2,030 per share, representing a 3.1% discount to the company’s current market price.
The transaction could take place either through the offer-for-sale (OFS) route or a direct block trade, sources added.
Earlier stake sale by promoter entity
Earlier, on August 8, Indian Continent Investment, a promoter entity of Bharti Airtel, sold around 1% shareholding—equivalent to 60 million shares—for approximately ₹11,200 crore via a market transaction.
The company said the placement attracted strong demand from marquee domestic and global long-only investors, comprising both new and existing shareholders. The proceeds from that sale were earmarked to strengthen the promoter’s balance sheet and maintain prudent leverage.
On August 7, CNBC-TV18 had reported that a Bharti Airtel promoter entity launched a block deal to offload 0.8% equity for around ₹9,310 crore, with a floor price of ₹1,862 per share.
As of the June 2025 quarter, Bharti Telecom held 40.47% stake in Bharti Airtel, while Indian Continent Investment and Pastel owned 2.47% and 8.32%, respectively.
Q2 results
Telecom giant Bharti Airtel Ltd reported a consolidated net profit of ₹6,791 crore for the July-September quarter (Q2 FY26), marking a 14.2% quarter-on-quarter rise from ₹5,948 crore and beating CNBC-TV18’s estimate of ₹6,600 crore.
Revenue climbed 5.4% sequentially to ₹52,145 crore, up from ₹49,462 crore, surpassing street expectations of ₹51,006 crore.
