Stock Market Opening Bell: Indian stock markets opened higher on Thursday, tracking firm cues from select heavyweight stocks. The BSE Sensex rose 300 points or 0.36 per cent to trade at around 83,759, while the NSE Nifty50 gained 53 points or 0.21 per cent to hover near 25,651.
Asian Paints, IndiGo, M&M, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, and SBI were among the top gainers, providing early support to the benchmarks.
However, broader markets were subdued in early trade — the Nifty MidCap index slipped 0.03 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap index declined 0.14 per cent, reflecting some profit booking at higher levels.
Activity remained strong in the primary market. The basis of allotment for Lenskart Solutions’ IPO shares is expected today, while Orkla India is set to make its debut on Dalal Street. Meanwhile, the Groww IPO entered its second day of subscription.
In the SME segment, Finbud Financial Services opened for public subscription, while Shreeji Global FMCG continued into its second day. Shares of Safecure Services are also lined up for listing today, keeping investors’ focus on the IPO space.
