Stock Market Opening Bell: Indian equities began Friday’s session on a cautious note, with investors reacting to lingering uncertainty over separate trade negotiations between the US, India, and China.

At the opening bell, the BSE Sensex was trading at 84,443, down 113 points or 0.13 per cent, while the Nifty 50 slipped 27 points or 0.10 per cent to 25,866.

Despite the cautious start in benchmark indices, broader markets showed resilience. The Nifty MidCap gained 0.05 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap added 0.09 per cent. On the Sensex, BEL, ICICI Bank, and Tata Steel emerged as early gainers, supporting sectoral breadth.

Investors will keep a close watch on Q2 earnings due today, including Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, SBI Cards & Payment Services, SBI Life Insurance, Coforge, ITC Hotels, Supreme Petrochem, Brigade Hotel Ventures, Sigachi Industries, Jinkushal Industries, NDL Ventures, and eClerx Services. Strong corporate results could provide fresh momentum in the mid- and small-cap segments.
