Kapur is to act as the Group CEO with effect from February 24, 2026. Kapur was previously the managing director of Ambuja Cements Ltd.

The company has elevated the current group CEO JP Chalasani to a member of the Group Executive Council. He will continue to be designated as a key managerial personnel (KMP) of the firm.

It has also appointed Girish Vanvari as an independent director from February 24, 2026 to February 23, 2031.

He holds a degree in economics and MBA from the KJ Somaiya Institute of Management. He is also an alumnus of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the company said.

Kapur has more than 36 years of expertise in the cement, construction, power and heavy metals sector. He has also been involved in several business forums such as CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM.

In an interaction with CNBC-TV18, the Suzlon Energy management said that the Group Executive Council will focus on medium to long-term planning and projects, and that renewable will become a mainstream source of energy for the country.

The management also denied any discussion with the Adani Group for any potential equity investment into Suzlon energy.
