Tata Sierra Sparks Booking Frenzy: Tata has officially started bookings for its recently launched vehicle – Tata Sierra – from December 16. And on the very first day of bookings, the car created a new record as over 70,000 bookings were confirmed for the five-door SUV. Along with that, an additional 1.35 lakh customers are submitting their preferred configurations by proceeding to complete the booking formalities, the company informed.
Speaking about the booking milestone, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, "We sincerely thank our customers for this overwhelming response which reaffirms the legendary status of the Tata Sierra."
"True to its legacy of redefining norms, the Sierra has pioneered a new category: the Premium Mid-SUV. By enriching every dimension—space, comfort, luxury, safety, and everyday usability, the Sierra elevates the segment to an entirely new benchmark. The Sierra is more than a vehicle—it stands as a symbol of progress, individuality, and aspiration," he added.
The all-new Tata Sierra is the reincarnation of the iconic 1991 model of the same name. It is a mid-range SUV with a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The original Sierra was known for its three-door layout, while the 2025 version has switched to a more practical five-door design. It comes with 1.5L Petrol, 1.5L Diesel, and a 1.5L Hybrid—giving buyers more choice than ever before. Inside, you will get the largest sunroof in the segment at 1525mm, a triple-screen setup, Drive Memory Seats, a co-passenger screen, a Cooled Glovebox, and even a home-theatre-ready layout.
Featuring the thinnest headlight setup in India, this SUV is available in 7 variants and 6 colour options. In terms of safety, the new Sierra features an ADAS Level 2 system with 22 safety features.
Deliveries of the new Tata Sierra will commence from January 15, 2026.
According to the company, for many buyers, the Sierra name holds nostalgic value. The first-generation model was one of India’s early attempts at lifestyle SUVs, and its return is likely to draw interest from both old fans and new customers.
With the Tata Sierra 2025 price, new safety systems, the hybrid engine, and a better arrangement, Tata Motors has adapted the SUV for the present market while still keeping its personality.
