According to a press release by TCS, the collaboration will combine TCS’ AI-led enterprise transformation capabilities with GitLab’s intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps. The partnership is designed to help organisations orchestrate AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), within established standards, guardrails and compliance frameworks.

At the centre of the alliance is the implementation of the GitLab Duo Agent Platform. The platform enables organisations to deploy agentic AI across the software lifecycle, including agentic chat, pre-built foundational agents developed by GitLab experts, and custom agents tailored to specific enterprise use cases. It also supports integration with external AI tools such as Claude Code from Anthropic and Codex CLI from OpenAI, alongside built-in governance and security controls.

Ashok Krish, Head of AI Practice at TCS, said the partnership would help enterprises adopt AI-native DevSecOps capabilities while maintaining reliability and compliance. Alex Picker, Vice President of Global Ecosystems at GitLab, noted that TCS’ industry expertise and global scale would enable customers to maximise the value of the GitLab platform.

As part of the collaboration, TCS will develop industry-specific AI workflow templates and pre-built agents to accelerate time-to-value for clients. The partnership will also focus on modernising legacy software development practices and consolidating fragmented toolchains into GitLab’s unified platform, improving visibility, security and compliance across complex, multi-team environments.

The companies said the joint offering would benefit sectors such as telecommunications, financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and the public sector. Use cases include accelerating 5G service roll-outs, modernising core banking systems, enhancing content delivery platforms and enabling AI-driven customer experiences.
