A total of eleven fire tenders were dispatched to control the fire and stabilise the site.  By Asmita Pant  June 30, 2025, 4:12:32 PM IST (Updated)2 Min ReadAt least 12 people have been confirmed dead and 34 injured after a explosion triggered by a reactor blast rocked the Sigachi Pharma facility in the Pasamailaram industrial area of Sangareddy district on Monday (June 30) morning.

The blast, which led to a major fire and partial collapse of the building housing the reactor unit, resulted in severe injuries to around 34 workers. Several of the injured are said to have sustained critical burns. Rescue teams are still searching for people feared trapped under the debris.

According to ANI, eleven fire tenders were rushed to the site to contain the blaze and assist with evacuation efforts. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and instructed officials to expedite rescue efforts and ensure the injured receive the best possible treatment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ex-gratia compensation of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the families of each deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured.

The cause of the explosion has yet to be determined.

Sigachi Pharma is a unit of Sigachi Industries, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical excipients and chemicals.
