With an incredible opening weekend, Mohanlal's eagerly awaited drama Thudarum has had an incredible box office debut.

The film, which showcases Mohanlal's unmatched on-screen presence, has received favourable reviews from critics and audiences thanks to strong word-of-mouth. The actor's captivating performance seems to have reignited his dominance at the box office, as Thudarum turns out to be one of his biggest comebacks.

According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, Thudarum earned an impressive Rs 10.25 crore in India net across all languages on its third day (Sunday). The Malayalam version was the primary driver of the film’s earnings, contributing the majority of the total collections, while the Telugu version offered a minor boost.

The film’s box office trajectory tells a compelling story. On Day 1 (Friday), it earned Rs 5.25 crore, followed by a significant surge of 63.81% on Day 2 (Saturday), with Rs 8.6 crore. On Day 3 (Sunday), the early estimates indicated a strong Rs 10.25 crore.

The film’s increasing momentum is reflected in the occupancy levels, particularly for the Malayalam screenings, which recorded an outstanding 77.18% overall occupancy on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Morning shows saw a 70.96% occupancy rate, which steadily increased in the afternoon (80.52%) and evening (84.46%) shows.

Key regions like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram witnessed exceptional performance, with Kochi leading the pack at an impressive 97.50% occupancy. Even in the competitive Bengaluru market, Thudarum managed a respectable 65.50% occupancy.
