The Tamil language comedy drama Tourist Family hit the theatres on May 1, on the same day as the highly anticipated, Retro, HIT: The Third Case and Raid 2 release. Despite the strong competition, the film opened with decent ticket sales and has garnered positive reviews from the audience.

Viewers took to social media to share their early reactions to the film. Several viewers shared their reviews on X (formerly known as Twitter) and praised the simple yet entertaining plot.

One X user tweeted, “Tourist Family - The film didn't ask for any sympathy nor attention... But it called out all our humans to show humanity by just showcasing wholesomeness, fun and love.”

The tweet reads, “To feel a little more human , to feel every humanly feel in 2 hours #Touristfamily , do watch might be the film of this year , if you don’t feel tears both happy and sad may be you have upgraded into the best survival mode in this planet , that’s about it ! Must watch.”

One person also praised the filmmaker to bring the beautiful story to the screen and wrote, “#TouristFamily - WHAT A FILM! Made me smile, laugh and most importantly, it touched me. Directed by Abishan Jeevinth, Tourist Family features M. Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles. Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan have backed the film.
