Published on 20/08/2025 06:55 PM

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has onboarded Starlink Satellite Communication Pvt Ltd to use Aadhaar authentication for customer verification. The move will allow Starlink to carry out smooth, secure, and paperless onboarding of users while complying with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.

With this partnership, Starlink has been appointed as a Sub-Authentication User Agency and Sub-eKYC User Agency, enabling Aadhaar e-KYC for voluntary customer verification. The agreement was formalized in the presence of UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar, Deputy Director General Manish Bhardwaj, and Starlink India Director Parnil Urdhwareshe.

UIDAI stated that Aadhaar has become the backbone of India’s digital public infrastructure, driving ease of living and ease of doing business. Its face authentication solution is witnessing rapid adoption for its convenience and efficiency.

The integration with Starlink highlights the scalability of Aadhaar, showcasing how India’s digital identity framework can support global technology providers in delivering services like high-speed satellite internet with transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
