With this milestone, the company will become the world’s largest cement manufacturer outside China. Its India capacity will stand at 200.1 MTPA, while consolidated global capacity will reach 205.5 MTPA, including operations in the UAE, Bahrain and Sri Lanka.
The new units located in Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Patratu (Jharkhand) and Vizag (Andhra Pradesh) are aimed at strengthening regional supply across key growth corridors.
UltraTech’s expansion pace has accelerated significantly, having taken 36 years to reach 100+ MTPA in 2019, while the next 100 MTPA was added in under seven years, reflecting strong execution and rising infrastructure demand in India.
The company is now on track to scale up to 240+ MTPA capacity through ongoing expansion projects, backed by a capital expenditure of over ₹16,000 crore.
UltraTech plays a key role in India’s infrastructure ecosystem, contributing to one in every three homes, two out of every five kilometres of NHAI concrete roads, and four out of every five kilometres of metro rail projects in the country.
Alongside scale expansion, the company remains focused on sustainability, working to reduce CO₂ emissions per tonne, increase the use of alternative fuels and promote green construction practices.
