Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has put India’s textile sector in the spotlight in Budget 2026. The plan includes setting up mega textile parks. The Budget also introduces SAMARTH 2.0 to modernise skills, along with initiatives for new fibres, textile clusters, and the Gram Swaraj Scheme to help traditional crafts reach international markets. Sitharaman said, “Mega textile parks, modernised clusters, Samarth 2.0, and Gram Swaraj initiative will support growth, skilling, and khadi promotion.”

The plan focuses on people too, with SAMARTH 2.0 modernising skills and the Gram Swaraj Initiative promoting heritage products globally through branding, training, and market support. Sitharaman said, “Mega textile parks, modernised clusters, Samarth 2.0, and Gram Swaraj initiative will support growth, skilling, and khadi promotion.”
