Talismanic cricketer Virat Kohli enjoys a huge fanbase and anything the cricketer does hardly goes unnoticed on the internet. Something similar was witnessed on Friday as posts of Kohli dropping a like on a photo of actress Avneet Kaur had gone viral on the internet, leading to multiple and unnecessary narratives. Such was the extent that Kohli was forced to clear the air and urged fans to not make any "unnecessary assumptions".

A story shared by Kohli earlier in the evening read: “I’d like clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There were absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”

The photos, to which Kohli had reacted, showed Avneet in a bold avatar, where she wore a chic green top and short skirt. The post was liked by several fans of Avneet but Kohli dropping a like amused many and led to memes and reactions such as “Kohli saab what is this behaviour?" and “Akaay beta, papa ko phone do".

Meanwhile, Kohli has been enjoying sensational form at the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is among the top 5 highest run-scorers. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) veteran has accumulated 443 runs from 10 encounters and has notched six half-centuries - the most by any in IPL 2025 - in the process.

His strike-rate, however, stands at 138.87, which could attract criticism, but his ability to almost finish the matches single-handedly have so far kept them at bay.

RCB are currently placed second on the points table, with seven wins from 10 encounters and Kohli did have a role to play in most of the victories. The team will hope that their senior most player keep up the good form as RCB vie for their maiden IPL crown.
