Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila alleged on Wednesday that she was placed under house arrest by the state government.

Questioning Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the reason for her house arrest, the Congress leader asked whether just going to one's work place is also a crime now. Sharmila said she has been confined in her villa in Vijayawada.

"Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister garu, why am I house arrested in my villa in Vijayawada? For what reason? Please tell the people of AP," she posted on X, formerly.

"Why are you trying to curtail our constitutional rights? What is your govt afraid of?," Sharmila asked Naidu while tagging the Chief Minister, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, the Andhra Pradesh police and a couple of news agencies/channels.
