The Ahmedabad-based company said Anyra is India’s first indigenously developed biosimilar of Aflibercept 2 mg.
The pharma company said that it has also signed an agreement with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Bayer.
Scope Of Drug
Anyra is indicated for the treatment of neovascular (wet) Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), visual impairment due to macular edema secondary to Retinal Vein Occlusion (Branch RVO or Central RVO), visual impairment due to Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), and visual impairment due to Myopic Choroidal Neovascularization (mCNV).
Speaking on the launch, Dr Sharvil P. Patel, Managing Director, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., said, “At Zydus, we are committed to making advanced biologics accessible to patients who need them most. ANYRA is a transformative step for affordable retinal care in India."

Zydus Results
When we look at the company's performance in Q3, Zydus Life saw a net profit of ₹1,042 crore, which was higher than the estimates of ₹940 crore. It was up 2% from the previous year's ₹1,023.5 crore.
The company's revenue increased 30.3% to ₹6,865 crore from ₹5,269 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Furthermore, Zydus Life's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 31% to ₹1,817 crore from ₹1,388 crore in the previous year.
The shares of Zydus Life are trading in green but have wavered, remaining below the 1% mark. The shares of the company have increased in value by close to 4% in the past month of trading. The current share price stands at ₹914 per share.
