Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan last appeared together in the 2008 movie Tashan and now after a 17-year hiatus, the well-known on-screen duo will make a triumphant comeback in an exciting thriller helmed by the esteemed Priyadarshan.

Fans are excitedly awaiting their reunion on screen because their prior collaborations were well received by viewers.

A source close to the development told Hindustan Times, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board.”

Their chemistry on-screen has been well-loved, and this new project is set to bring their camaraderie back in full force.

The source continued, “It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audiences on the edge of their seats!” The film, which is set to begin shooting in August 2025, is scheduled for release in 2026. With such an intriguing plot and the combined star power of Akshay and Saif, the film promises to be a captivating ride.

Before Tashan, they collaborated on several popular films, such as the cult favourite Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998)

In addition to this thriller, Akshay who is currently basking the success of Kesari 2 is also collaborating with Priyadarshan on Bhoot Bangla, marking another reunion for the actor-director pair after 14 years.

Akshay also shared his excitement about working on Hera Pheri 3, stating, “Priyam sir has given all of us a fabulous surprise by offering to direct Hera Pheri 3. What a fabulous start to 2025.” This further proves that Akshay and Priyadarshan’s creative partnership remains as strong as ever, making their upcoming projects highly anticipated by fans.
