India made a significant advancement in its transportation industry with the launch of Bharat Taxi, the nation’s first cooperative-operated ride-hailing service.

The initiative will be officially launched by Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah at 3:00 pm at the Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Bharat Taxi has been developed with the aim of providing a fair transparent and driver-friendly alternative to existing ride-hailing services.

The platform operates according to the fundamental principle of "Sarathi Hi Malik" which defines the driver as the platform owner.

Bharat Taxi enables drivers to handle their complete earnings and operational schedule because it operates differently from private aggregator platforms.

Bharat Taxi provides a unique feature through its zero-commission and no-surge pricing system which operates during all times.

The platform allows drivers to keep all their earnings while passengers experience no additional costs during peak times or adverse weather conditions. The platform generates profits which get distributed to drivers who receive better earnings and financial security through this system.

Bharat Taxi was established on June 6 2025 and operates as a cooperative under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act 2002.

The service functions asIndianas first ride-hailing service which operates through a complete cooperative framework.

The initiative aims to decrease drivers dependency on platforms which rely on international funding while establishing a national self-sufficient transportation system.

The event honored exceptional drivers who belong to the group of Sarathis because they made important contributions to the cooperative mobility system.

The drivers demonstrate how the platform operates because its people-centered strategy forms its core. The platform owners received share certificates which established their ownership rights to the platform.

Bharat Taxi operates through its core mission to protect driver welfare while providing social security benefits.

The platform grants each registered Sarathi personal accident insurance coverage which reaches up to ₹5 lakh and family health insurance benefits which match that amount.

The platform provides retirement savings plans together with a specialized driver support system which helps drivers deal with their everyday issues.

The service functions through two elements which include authenticated ride records and emergency support systems while permitting drivers to use multiple systems without signing exclusive contracts.

The organization maintains support centers at important locations throughout the country which includes Delhi to deliver direct assistance to drivers.

The organization has created special programs which focus on supporting women's empowerment. The platform launched "Bike Didi" which targets women drivers while already having more than 150 women registered as users.

Bharat Taxi has experienced fast growth since its initial operations because the platform has gained hundreds of thousands of drivers and users who use its services for daily ride transactions.

The platform plans to expand across all states and cities in the coming years and integrate with India’s digital public infrastructure.

Bharat Taxi establishes its mission to create an inclusive people-centered transportation system which operates sustainably through its cooperative business model and fair pricing structure and commitment to driver dignity.
