Bonus Shares: Container Corporation of India to consider fifth free share proposal on May 22This will be the fifth instance of the company considering an issue of bonus shares to shareholders.By Meghna Sen May 19, 2025, 1:50:36 PM IST (Updated)1 Min ReadShares of Container Corporation of India Ltd. are trading with gains of 3% on Monday, May 19, after the company announced that it will hold a board meet on May 22, 2025, to consider an issue of bonus shares.
Along with that proposal, the board will also consider earnings for the March quarter.
The bonus shares, if declared, which will be subject to requisite approvals, the company said in an exchange filing.
This will be the fifth instance of the company considering an issue of bonus shares to shareholders.

Earlier in 2019, the company had announced the issue of one bonus share for every four shares held by shareholders. In 2017, the company had also issued one free share for every four shares held by shareholders.
In 2013, Container Corporation had also issued one free share for every two shares held by shareholders, and in 2008, the company had issued one free share for every one share held by shareholders.
Shares of Container Corporation of India Ltd. are currently trading 2.86% higher at ₹751.40.
