The Banganga Paper Industries Ltd (BPIL) board of directors has, in a bold strategic move, authorised the purchase of 78.90 per cent of the equity stake of CMJ Breweries Prime Ltd (CMJBPL) at their December 17 meeting. This comprises 10,95,22,067 shares of equity (with the face value of Rs 10 each) with an addition to the authorised share capital of BPIL.
The transaction will make BPIL control the already flourishing beer sector in Northeast India, although the acquisition will be finalized in two months, subject to shareholder and stock exchange.
