IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have issued a light-hearted clarification after a video showing Kuldeep Yadav slapping Rinku Singh twice went viral on social media. The incident took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi following KKR's victory over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday night.

As speculation began to swirl online, the IPL franchise stepped in with a cheeky caption aimed at shutting down rumors and clearing the air, confirming that the interaction between the two players was all in good humor.

KKR posted a video of Kuldeep and Rinku with the caption: "Media (sansani) vs (doston ke beech ka) Reality Gehri dosti feat. our talented UP boys."

In the viral clip, Kuldeep is seen playfully giving Rinku two slaps, but it was Rinku’s surprised reaction to the first one that caught fans’ attention and sparked speculation about possible tension between the two players. Some fans were skeptical of KKR’s explanation, dismissing the video as mere 'damage control'.

It's not the first time when a player has slapped another in IPL. In the inaugural edition (IPL 2008), Harbhajan Singh slapped S Sreesanth after a match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings now). The veteran spinner was then banned for the rest of the tournament for his actions.

Coming to the match result, veteran all-rounder Sunil Narine shined with the ball taking three crucial wickets for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the space of seven deliveries to beat the Delhi Capitals by 14 runs. The win kept KKR's hopes alive to qualify for the playoffs.
