Flights Cancelled across North India: Two flights each by IndiGo and SpiceJet have been cancelled from Srinagar airport, the airport said in a post on X on Monday, December 22. For the latest updates and alternate arrangements, passengers are advised to check their flight status with the respective airline, it added.

Along with Srinagar, SpiceJet has also informed that all flights to and from Varanasi, Amritsar and Bengaluru may be affected due to bad weather and low visibility. Passengers are requested to keep checking their flight status through the official website.
"Due to bad weather (poor visibility) at Varanasi (VNS) and Amritsar (ATQ), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected. The passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status," SpiceJet tweeted.

On Sunday, IndiGo issued a travel advisory stating that flights to and from Srinagar would be affected due to dense fog in the region affecting visibility. The airlines further recommended passengers to check the latest flight update on the website or app before heading to the airport.
"As conditions evolve, some services may experience delays, and a few may need to be cancelled depending on clearance and operational feasibility," the advisory stated. "In case of cancellation, please visit goindigo.in/plan-b.html to reschedule or claim a refund," the airlines said.
Dense fog enveloped several states and cities across northern India. Delhi/NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi, and Jaipur experienced low visibility and severe cold in the morning. As the cold weather intensified, Moradabad was enveloped in dense fog this morning. Vehicles and people are advised to exercise caution when venturing outside. Ayodhya also witnessed a harsh winter morning with severe cold wave and dense fog, reducing visibility, causing disruptions and making travel difficult. Varanasi is also experiencing a cold wave and a thick blanket of fog has enveloped the city, severely affecting visibility and slowing down traffic. Lucknow was engulfed in a thick blanket of fog and residents had to face a cold and foggy morning.
