F&O Exclusions: These four stocks will no longer see new contracts from the May seriesFutures and options (F&O) contracts in these stocks will cease to trade from May 4, 2026, and no fresh contracts will be introduced for subsequent expiry months.By CNBCTV18.com February 24, 2026, 11:56:28 AM IST (Published)2 Min ReadBSE has removed Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd, Piramal Pharma Ltd, Tata Technologies Ltd and Torrent Power Ltd from the equity derivatives segment.
Futures and options (F&O) contracts in these stocks will cease to trade from May 4, 2026, and no fresh contracts will be introduced for subsequent expiry months.
All currently active contracts for February, March and April 2026 will run their course and expire on their scheduled dates, February 26, March 25 and April 30, respectively.
Post May 4, no derivative contracts will be available in these securities, as per the exchange notification.
HUDCO, Piramal Pharma and Tata Technologies are constituents of the BSE 500 index, while Torrent Power is part of the BSE 200 index.
The move follows the exchange's eligibility norms governing inclusion and exclusion of stocks in the derivatives segment.
Under the entry requirements, a stock must, over a rolling six month period, maintain a Median Quarter Sigma Order Size of at least ₹75 lakh, a market wide position limit of no less than ₹1,500 crore and an average daily delivery value in the cash segment of at least ₹35 crore.
Only stocks that satisfy these conditions in the underlying cash market of any recognised exchange are permitted to trade in the equity derivatives segment across exchanges.
Once excluded for failing to meet the criteria, a stock cannot be reconsidered for inclusion for one year from its last day of derivatives trading.
This implies that F&O trading in these four stocks can resume only after May 2027, subject to them meeting the prescribed norms again.
On Tuesday, HUDCO shares are trading 1.12% lower, Tata Technologies has declined 2.30%, and Piramal Pharma is lower by 1.34%, while Torrent Power is up 1.26%.Continue ReadingTagsFutures and OptionsHUDCOTata TechnologiesTorrent pharma share price
