Software giant Infosys Ltd. CEO Salil Parekh has said that six areas of growth in AI services could unlock $300 billion to $400 billion in business opportunity till 2030 and these are where Infosys sees the next wave of AI-led growth emerging.

Speaking at Infosys Investor AI Day on Tuesday, February 17, he outlined AI strategy, data for AI, process for AI, agentic legacy modernisation, physical AI, and AI trust as the six promising areas of growth.

Parekh noted that legacy modernisation represents one of the largest opportunities within this framework.

He explained that physical AI is a new concept where AI software is embedded directly into devices.

Parekh also said Infosys is expanding its partnership ecosystem, adding new partners as part of its go-to-market strategy, and has recruited 20,000 college graduates this year to build future-ready AI capabilities.

Parekh told the audience that Infosys does "AI work" for 90% of its top 200 large clients. "What we see from our clients is that they trust Infosys to drive and deliver AI initiatives," he said.

Parekh's presentation further extended the stock's gains with shares up 4.32% for the day at 1,424.60 apiece.

The stock had gained 3% around 10 am after the company announced a strategic collaboration with Anthropic to develop and deliver advanced enterprise AI solutions across telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing and software development.

The announcements come amid India’s ongoing AI Impact Summit, where policymakers, technology leaders and startups have converged to discuss the country’s evolving role in global AI development and governance.
