In response, the Nifty IT index rose 3% to 33,612.30 today. HCL Technologies, Wipro and Persistent Systems shares gained nearly 3% each.
Mphasis rose 2%, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tech Mahindra, Coforge and LTI Mindtree shares rose around 2% each.
The partnership will initially focus on the telecom sector, where the companies plan to set up a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence to design and deploy AI agents tailored to industry-specific needs.
Over time, the collaboration is expected to expand to other verticals, including financial services, manufacturing and software.
At the heart of the alliance is the integration of Anthropic's Claude models, including Claude Code, with Infosys Topaz AI offerings.
The combined stack aims to help enterprises automate complex workflows, speed up software development and adopt AI within strong governance and compliance frameworks, particularly in regulated industries.
A key thrust will be on agentic AI, or systems capable of independently executing multi-step tasks such as claims processing, code generation and testing, and compliance management.
Leveraging tools like the Claude Agent SDK, the two companies intend to build AI agents that can operate across long, intricate processes rather than handling one-off prompts.
The collaboration will also support enterprises in modernising legacy systems by combining Infosys Topaz with Claude to accelerate migration and lower the cost of upgrading older infrastructure.
Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, said the partnership represents a strategic step in advancing enterprise AI, enabling businesses to become more intelligent, resilient and responsible.
He added that the joint expertise would help clients unlock value across sectors, from intelligent risk management in financial services to AI-led engineering and manufacturing innovation.
Dario Amodei, CEO and Co-Founder of Anthropic, said bridging the gap between AI models that work in demos and those that function reliably in regulated environments requires deep domain expertise.
He said that Infosys brings strong capabilities across telecom, financial services and manufacturing, and that its developers are already using Claude Code to build AI agents for precision-driven industries.Continue ReadingFirst Published: Feb 17, 2026 10:06 AM ISTTagsAnthropicInfosysInfosys share price
